The Faces of the Golden Strip is excited to share Pat with you!  Please read her story in her own words below…

 

I am the President and CEO of the Greater Mauldin Chamber. I have been with the Chamber for 22 years. I love working with our businesses and community.

 

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
My husband is retired. I have two children – my daughter is a teacher in Tennessee and my son is a Superior Court judge in North Carolina. I have 2 grand children.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
As a former business owner, I find it rewarding to work with our businesses in my position at the Chamber.

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
Luna Rosa and J Peters.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
I have lived in the community 24 years and have worked here 22 years.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
Former Mayor L.S. Green – He is a World War II hero, led Mauldin as mayor for many years, and he is a very dedicated, honest, hard working man of God who is devoted to his country.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
The Holy Land

Q: What advice would you give to people?
Always be kind to one another.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
Spend more time with my family!

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
We recently did an article on longevity of businesses in the Mauldin area. These small businesses are inspiring.

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
I would love to have lunch with my friend Susan from KY and we would eat at J Peters.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
The people.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
Retired.

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I was a business owner which gave me an admiration for small business owners.

Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
Venice.

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
My family and friends.

Q: Describe what “neighbor” means to you?
A community of people that support each other.

Q: Finally, what 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
Community, love, together.
