Meet Donovan Springle, the newest Senior 2020 to be featured in The Faces of The Golden Strip community blog. Donovan attends Brashier Middle College Charter High School in Simpsonville.
Q: Where do you go to school?
A: Brashier Middle College Charter High School
Q: Were involved in anything such as Beta Club, Debate Team, ROTC, Yearbook Staff, Sports, or Marching Band?
A: Beta Club (10-12), Yearbook Staff (12), Low Brass Section Leader of Hillcrest High School Marching Band (9-12), Hillcrest Track (10-12) Kappa League (9-12).
Q: Did you receive any peer votes?
A: Biggest Personality Superlative.
Q: Please tell us about your current plans after high school. And what inspired you to choose this path?
A: I am attending Clemson University to study Psychology and minor in Biology. I was inspired to do this because of my career aspirations and family.
Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
A: My mom is a Children’s Ministry Director at Kingdom Life Church and my Dad is a Pediatrician with the Pediatric Associates of Simpsonville. I also have a sister who is a seventh grader at Hillcrest Middle School.
Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
A: Ice Cream Station, Olympian Grill, Barley’s, and some franchises.
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
A: I would go to New Zealand because they are corona free.
Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
A: My favorite movie is “Gremlins” and my favorite show is “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.”
Q: What’s the best advice you ever received from a teacher? Who was the teacher?
A: I can’t remember any specific advice but my Geometry teacher Mr. Diener always gave a lot of good advice.
Q: What is your go to band when you can’t decide what to listen to?
A: I just hit shuffle and listen to whatever comes on.
Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
A: Will Smith because he is my favorite actor and famous person and I would meet him at Ice Cream Station.
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
A: Everyone is very kind.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
A: Going to Med school and then graduating and going into Residency.
Q: What show are you binge watching right now?
A: “Avatar: The Last Airbender”
Q: What is your favorite month? holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
A: My favorite month is October. My favorite Holiday is Christmas. My favorite day is my Birthday.
Q: Who inspires you to be better?
A: My parents.
Q: If you could go back over your entire school career, what is one thing you would do different?
A: Change my class schedule up a bit.
Q: Who or what do you miss the most right now?
A: School events.
Q: What’s the first thing you want to do when this quarantine is over?
A: Hang out with friends.
