I am the co-owner of Highway Men Moving, located here in Greenville, SC! We are a locally owned and operated moving company. I have six and a half years of experience in the moving industry. Since a young kid, I have always wanted to own my own business and I would always seek out work that I had control over, like many entrepreneurs tend to do. After working within the industry and gaining knowledge about how to run a moving business, I decided to take a step of faith with my business partner as we set off to create something better than the rest. My business partner and I always had a working relationship. We met by bailing hay for a family in Mauldin, by the name of Bud Greer. Working long, hot hours during the summer for little pay from the start of high school until college was a tremendous bonding experience. That is where we learned to work well together no matter the circumstances.
Aside from moving, my family has also managed a local small business during the winter season called “Granddaddy’s Trees”. This has been a tradition since I was 5 years old. We have two locations Fairview Road and East Butler Road. It is extremely hard but so worth it because of the joy and cheer it brings to so many families in the area.
Q: Tell us about yourself, including a little bit about where you grew up, your education, your family, interests, passions, and career?
I grew up in Simpsonville, SC. I graduated from Hillcrest High School. My dad grew up in the neighborhood off of East Butler Road and that was always Grandma’s house. My wife went to Mauldin High School after she moved here from West Virginia. I love being involved in my church. I love the outdoors. I enjoy fitness and working out. I love to wrestle and compete in Jiu Jitsu.

I have lived/worked in or near the Golden Strip area for my entire life essentially.
Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
A good, upbeat pop song could get me dancing quickly. I would consider it a guilty pleasure.
Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in The Golden Strip?
I recently met a lady named Cassie Alexander. She is a realtor that lives in Mauldin but she is an absolute pleasure! She treats you as if she has known you her entire life.
Q: What current / former local business makes you the most nostalgic about The Golden Strip?
The Mauldin Cultural Center is extremely nostalgic for me. I used to be a part of a program called Young Marines. We would gather at the cultural center and to this day, I have memories of being a kid and making friends through that program.
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about The Golden Strip?
I love the small businesses within the Golden Strip.
