I am the middle child from a middle class family. I’ve always been a little out of the normal by being tattooed up, being highly energized, and taking the entrepreneurial route in life. I was born in Arkansas but moved to Greenville shortly after, I consider myself a Greenville native as I have seen & experienced the growth of Greenville. It is also why I set my roots in business in Greenville and started The Ghost Brands, known as Ghost Marketing.

I started my marketing journey back in 2010 at Complete Nutrition as the Marketing Director, moving to GNC as Director of Marketing & Advertising, then shortly moving to UFC Gym as Chief Marketing Officer, and finally branching out to start The Ghost Brands, Ghost Marketing. I have always had a desire for marketing, trends, and helping customers relate to brands. I have 13 years of marketing experience and have seen the marketing landscape change drastically over the years.

I eventually wrote a book that is published on Amazon, Entrepreneurshit, which walks through the hardships of being an entrepreneur. As being part, yet behind the scenes of some of your favorite thriving businesses; I just love seeing Greenville come together and love on each other. Greenville has that big city feel, with small town roots.

You can find me driving around town in my GhostVee, Military Style Hummer H, or at our corporate office on Woodruff Rd. Pop in, enjoy an energy drink, and we are always open to talk life, business, and just get to know those who live & work around us.

Q: Tell us about yourself, including a little bit about where you grew up, your education, your family, interests, passions, and career?
Grew up in Greenville, Born in Arkansas, but lived some in Europe for 3 years, Romania specifically. I went to Sevier Middle School, Wade Hampton High School and then straight into the workforce. I climbed up the corporate ladder and then branched out on my own. I love tattoos, the shooting range, star wars, and motorcycles.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in The Golden Strip?
For about 8 years and my own personal company for the past 3 years.

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I am a massive Star Wars & Storm Trooper fan. My whole office is covered in Storm Troopers which shocks people when they first see it.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in The Golden Strip?
Would have to be Daniel Knowlton, the owner of Hip Burger… he is a good old Georgia boy but has a love for Greenville, food, and has built a foundation with Mauldin High School.

Q: What current / former local business makes you the most nostalgic about The Golden Strip?
Fudruckers. I haven’t been there in forever but I remember going there after church at times on Sunday and enjoying the retro feel/vibes. It is still standing right there on Woodruff Rd.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about The Golden Strip?
The diversification of what you can find. There are little mom & pop stores, national brands, and the people you meet make the Golden Strip unique. The stories you hear and the life journey people experience in Greenville is very unique.

Q: With so much growth in our area, there are always new places popping up. Tell us about the a “new to you” place that you recently tried.
I went to one of our new client’s restaurants next door, CHPSTX with our team and bought them all lunch. It was fun, quiet, and homey.

Q: What 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME or NEIGHBOR?
Friendly, Cozy, Relaxing.

Q: If you had friends or family visiting you from out of town, what is the one place that you must take them to?
I would take them downtown, walk the park, and possibly get some ice cream from Spill The Beans.

Q: If you had a free day with no plans, what would you do? Or where can we find you on the weekends?
Free Day – would have a day date with my wife so we can spend more time together. On the weekends, I am always working… marketing never sleeps.

Q: If you were cast into a major motion picture and had your choice of anyone to be your co-star, who would you choose?
I would probably say Ryan Reynolds. I think we would get along and improv like crazy.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
I want to go to Galaxy’s Edge at Disney World. When I go, I plan to get the full experience.

Q: What advice would you give to a crowd of people?
Be yourself, be authentic, and don’t let anyone take away your creativity.

Chris Sweet at Swamp Rabbit Moving.
