Hi, I’m Ashley Robinson, owner of The Palmetto Lens. I’m a real estate photographer based in the Upstate, helping agents market their listings with high-quality, professional media. I love capturing homes in a way that makes them stand out and tells a story.

Q: Tell us about yourself, including a little bit about where you grew up, your education, your family, interests, passions, and career?
I grew up in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and later attended a small college in Tennessee, where I lived for many years before relocating to Greenville in 2022. Before starting The Palmetto Lens, I worked in the mental health field, which gave me a strong appreciation for connection, communication, and attention to detail—skills that I now bring into every client interaction. My work today centers around helping real estate agents present their listings in the best possible light, creating polished, high-impact visuals that not only showcase a home but also support an agent’s overall brand and marketing strategy. I’m married, a mom of three, and when I’m not behind the camera, I love traveling, chasing sunsets and our Golden Retriever Rocky, watching my kids compete in sports, trying new recipes, and attending local events.
Q: How long have you lived or worked in The Golden Strip?
After relocating to the area in 2022, I launched my real estate media business in 2024 and now serve agents and listings throughout the Golden Strip.Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I’m really into documentaries—anything from true stories to business or travel. I love learning how things work and hearing different perspectives, and since I spend a good amount of time in the car, I’m almost always listening to a podcast or audiobook.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in The Golden Strip?
It’s hard to narrow it down to just one person, but I’ve met so many genuinely driven and kind people in this area. One of the things I appreciate most is how much people here care about their work, their clients, and their community—it really stands out.

Q: What current / former local business makes you the most nostalgic about The Golden Strip?
Even with how quickly the area is growing, I love the small-town feel you still get in places like downtown Simpsonville—those locally owned spots, like the Ice Cream Station, always stand out.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about The Golden Strip?
The growth combined with a strong sense of community. It’s one of those places where new development is happening, but it still feels welcoming and connected.

Q: With so much growth in our area, there are always new places popping up. Tell us about the a “new to you” place that you recently tried.
One place we’ve recently enjoyed is The Mill in Fountain Inn—a food hall with a fun outdoor yard space in the back. It’s a great place to hang out, try something new, and there really is something for everyone.

Q: What 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME or NEIGHBOR?
Welcoming, Comfortable, Connected

Q: If you had friends or family visiting you from out of town, what is the one place that you must take them to?
After years of living just outside of Memphis and enjoying some amazing BBQ, we love taking out-of-town guests to great local BBQ spots in the area, like Bobby’s.

Q: If you had a free day with no plans, what would you do? Or where can we find you on the weekends?
Weekends are usually spent at my kids’ sporting events or enjoying a local park or festival. We also love walking around Bridgeway or one of the local downtown areas.

Q: If you were cast into a major motion picture and had your choice of anyone to be your co-star, who would you choose?
Jennifer Garner—she seems like such a delightful person—fun-loving, upbeat, and easy to be around.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
Chasing the best sunsets along beaches around the world.

Q: What advice would you give to a crowd of people?
Don’t be afraid to follow your dreams and make them a reality. You may fail a little along the way—just keep going and trust that it will pay off.

Q: Who would you like to see nominated for this project, The Faces of The Golden Strip?
I’d love to see one of the local chefs featured—there are so many incredible new restaurants in the Golden Strip, and it would be great to highlight one of the people behind them.
