Ok I’m never sure how to answer this question, 😆 but here goes. I’m a 52 year old happily married mother of two children, a son and a daughter, and a one year old fur baby named Zoey. I am someone who loves life, humor, people and trying new things. I love what I do as a psychotherapist, coach, consultant, author, and motivational speaker. I also host women’s empowerment events such as the Breathe Women’s Conference and the Breathe Women’s Retreat. I love helping people grow and realize their true purpose and potential in life.

Q: Tell us about yourself, including a little bit about where you grew up, your education, your family, interests, passions, and career?
I was born and raised in Easley, SC and graduated from Easley High in 1989. I attended the University of South Carolina and got my bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology. A couple of years after college, I moved to Brooklyn, NY where I worked in the foster care system. I later relocated back south to Atlanta and in 2001, I moved back to the Upstate to pursue a master’s degree in counseling. Upon graduation, I worked as an executive director of a nonprofit organization in the Sterling Community before taking the entrepreneurial leap in 2012. I’ve since been in private practice as a licensed psychotherapist for the past eleven years and I have now fully expanded my business to include personal and professional development as a global learning and development facilitator, leadership consultant, DEIB practitioner, Stress Management expert and Executive Coach. My interests include reading, writing, traveling, and real estate. I am passionate about my children and family. I am passionate about helping people live their best lives imaginable.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in The Golden Strip?
I have lived in Simpsonville since 2006 and I am happy to call it home.

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I’m a pretty open book so I often share my interests with my loved ones.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in The Golden Strip?
I meet interesting people all the time, but don’t have a particular name of someone.

Q: What current / former local business makes you the most nostalgic about The Golden Strip?
The Ice Cream Station

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about The Golden Strip?
I love how suburban it is and that I don’t have to leave here to get good food or great shopping. It’s still rural in many ways so it’s relaxing and yet it’s close to everything I need to get to. Plus it’s on the way to the lower state where we have family living.

Q: With so much growth in our area, there are always new places popping up. Tell us about the a “new to you” place that you recently tried.
First Watch

Q: What 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME or NEIGHBOR?
Home: Safety, Love and Belonging.

Q: If you had friends or family visiting you from out of town, what is the one place that you must take them to?
Ice Cream Station.

Q: If you had a free day with no plans, what would you do? Or where can we find you on the weekends?
Walking at Heritage Park.

Q: If you were cast into a major motion picture and had your choice of anyone to be your co-star, who would you choose?
Let me answer that in two ways: my love interest would be Morris Chestnut. Action Star would be Thandie Newton.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
Skydiving.

Q: What advice would you give to a crowd of people?
You are only limited by your own imagination. Use it wisely and fearlessly!

Q: Who would you like to see nominated for this project, The Faces of The Golden Strip?
Nikki Scott, my 15 year old next door neighbor
