My name is Marvette. I own Mitchell Logistics LLC and a Co-owner of C&D Catering. I’m a Low Country native raised in the Camp Branch Community. I served in the Marines before moving to Simpsonville 10 years ago.

 

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I’m married to my Marine Corps sweetheart, Cairo. Together we have 3 children Yasmine, Rhyonna and CJ.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I’m an Entrepreneur. Currently, I own 2 businesses. Mitchell Logistics which specialize in moving small/medium size freight across the South East. C&D Catering brings soul food to the grill. Our Brisket is the star of the show. I love so many things about being an entrepreneur. If I had to pick one thing I would choose the freedom. I have the creative freedom to design my business. Freedom over my earning potential. Freedom to choose how quality of life looks for me.

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
GG’z in Simpsonville, Cucina 100 in Ft Inn & Low Country Shrimper in Mauldin.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
10 years.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
Greece. I want to visit the Mykonos caves.

Q: What advice would you give to people?
Know yourself and seek self improvement.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
Indoor Skydiving.

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
Ice Cream Station in Simpsonville.

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
I would love to have lunch with Tiffany Haddish. She’s funny and seems to be her authentic self all the time. I try to have a good time no matter what I’m doing and she seems to do that well. Obviously, C&D Catering would cater our lunch.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
Cedar Falls Park.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
Still living and creating businesses in the Golden Strip area. Also, engaging in philanthropic efforts within our community.

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I get excited when I get a new book or when going to a bookstore.

Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
Japan.

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
My kids & husband.

Q: Describe what “neighbor” means to you?
A neighbor is someone who sees you in need and will help without being asked to. They look out for your family and property like it’s their own. Someone who’s respectful even when you don’t have the same views.

Love – Comfort – Restoration.
