I am a native of Mauldin. I graduated from Southside High School from the International Baccalaureate program in 1997. I went on to attend Furman University and graduated with a dual degree in Computer Science and Business Administration.

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I have been married to Pierre Anderson, a native of Greenville, for almost 14 years. Although we don’t have any children, we have great, loving relationships with all of our nieces and nephews.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I am certified public accountant. I have a practice on W. Georgia Rd. in Simpsonville. Many people think that CPAs stare at numbers all day. That is a big part of my job, but I also get to know my clients and even their families. It allows me to take a personalized approach with my clients.

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
Stella’s Southern Bistro, Anchor Raw Bar at Warehouse at Vaughns, Bourbon Street Burgers at Warehouse at Vaughns.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
I have lived in the Golden Strip area for 43 years.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
The most interesting person that l have met is Dr. SC Cureton. He was the pastor at Reedy River Baptist Church for 43 years.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
I would love to travel to Diani Beach in Kenya. It is rich in culture, beautiful, and I’ve read it is one of the best beaches to snorkel.

Q: What advice would you give to people?
Be kind to yourself, and you will find that is much easier to be kind to others.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
Believe it or not, I would love to skydive.

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
Tommy’s when it used to be on the corner of N. Main and Butler Rd. in Mauldin

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
I would choose to have lunch with a former boss/mentor, Renata Owens. Although we’ve kept in touch, there’s something about eating lunch and having someone’s undivided attention. We would eat at Stella’s.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
Simpsonville has a very quaint, beautiful downtown area.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
In 5 to 10 years, I will still have my practice in Simpsonville.

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
There is not much that people, especially those close to me, don’t know about me.

Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
Rome, Italy

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
My family inspires me to be better. We all love, support, and push one another to be the best that we can be.

Q: Describe what “neighbor” means to you?
Community members who look out for one another.

Q: Finally, what 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
Love, safety, family.
